They have been very closely compared to the Clinique Chubby Sticks on every blog I've seen, with good reason as they are housed in almost identical packaging, however I think these are rather different in formulation from the Chubbies.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the Chubby Sticks. I know lots of people love them, but for me they are just a bit of a 'blah' product... boring colour selection with limited payoff, unscented and at £16 I can think of better things to spend my money on. In general Clinique is quite a plain brand and I think they are a great fit for them, but for me? I prefer something with a little more bang for my buck... and I think that is exactly what you get with these new Revlon Balms.
I only picked up one of the 12 colours (of which only 7 are making it to the UK market - typical!) on my trip to the States last week, as let's face it, I really don't need any more lip balms, but for curiosity's sake I purchased a lone Kissable Balm Stain in the colour Darling.
It looks a little scarily lilac in the tube, but on the lips it's a lovely lilac-pink.
The colour payoff is ever so slightly better than the chubby sticks (the ones I've used at least!) they have a light minty taste that I'm a huge fan of, and they are going to be on sale for £7.99. A much better price for a lip balm in my opinion! The texture is also a little different from the cubby sticks. It's slightly more waxy, and combined with the minty taste, I think these are actually more comparable to Pixi's Tinted Brilliance Balms (which I'm also a big fan of).
Overall, these get a big thumbs up from me! Revlon really are owning the tinted lip balm market this year. After the success of the Lip Butters, and now these beauties.... I can't wait to see what's next from the brand!
